Steven is a senior executive with over four decades of experience in all types of commercial real estate in the Midwest. His experience encompasses office, industrial retail, corporate facilities and the unique profile of data center properties. He has held numerous positions during his career that have included oversite of property and facility management, leasing, construction, asset management and new development. Steve has supervised large staffs in all of these areas and has worked for a number of service providers and institutional owners was well as publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT). Names include Miglin-Beitler, Cushman & Wakefield, Transwestern and Digital Realty. Steve is industry recognized for his ability to deliver and manage initiatives from concept through delivery. Some specific responsibilities and experience have been overall asset management of 350 E. Cermak in Chicago. This asset is the largest single data center property in the country with operating revenues in excess of $100MM, highlighted by 10% year over year increases in net income while maintaining 99+% occupancy. In addition while at Digital Realty Steve was the development manager for a 60 Megawatt campus in suburban Chicago overseeing construction, leasing and management. Project was fully leased in less than three years with no pre-leasing. Steve’s institutional client list includes prominent names such as Prudential, TIAA-CREF and Met Life. Corporate facility clients included names such as Wm. Wrigley Company Chicago Transit Authority and Vanguard Healthcare Systems.

In addition to enhancing value and managing expenses a focus was placed on energy conservation, LEED certification, diversity quality control and staff training and development. While at Miglin-Beitler Steve was part of the development teams for a number of downtown Chicago high rise projects in excess of 5MM square feet. He built a property management, leasing and project management organization that ultimately became the largest in Chicago with numerous pension fund, banks and asset advisors as clients.

Steve has had extensive experience acting as a court appointed receiver including the 2MM square foot Chicago Mercantile Exchange property and extensive experience in property acquisitions and dispositions.

Steve is a degreed Mechanical Engineer where he graduated from Michigan Technological University with honors.

He holds a LEED AP certification.

Steve is a licensed Managing Real Estate Broker in Illinois.
