Lonnie joins Bespoke REA as Managing Director of Bespoke REA’s Florida region, bringing over 30 years of commercial experience. His impressive real estate career has taken him all over the world beginning in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where he worked as a General Manager for Oxford Development Group. Lonnie then moved to Tampa in the early 1990’s and worked as General Manager for Oxford Properties Florida, Inc. Next it was around the world to Jakarta, Indonesia where he worked with the Mulia Group. In Jakarta, Lonnie managed three office buildings and marketed a 35 story, eight-tower luxury condominium and 1.2 million square foot shopping center project with a total building area of 3,900,000 sq. ft.. The mall, and total ancillary project components, nestled within the eight residential towers and housing more than 500 specialized stores, spread within seven floors, is the world’s largest concrete structure – even beyond the Pentagon in size.
Lonnie then returned to the Tampa area and worked for a local real estate firm, where he was responsible for the assembly of a 700,000 square foot office and retail project, then in 2000 joined Chesapeake Atlanta Holdings, Inc. as their V.P. of Operations covering locations from Tampa to Kansas City. In 2006, Lonnie joined Summit Advisors as Senior Vice President overseeing the industrial portfolio of St. Paul Travelers Insurance. In 2014, family brought him back to Edmonton and he served as Director of Real Estate for an Edmonton based super center developer/owner. Today, Lonnie is directing his focus with Bespoke on a full-time basis.
Lonnie has a passion and perseverance for start-up operations of both physical real estate assets as well as the corporate entities required to operate them, and thus has gained a vast knowledge and understanding of “what it takes” to assemble and bring together the right team to get the job done.
Lonnie earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and holds the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation. He has served as president of the Edmonton, Tampa Bay and Florida BOMA chapters as well as being one of the founders of BOMA Indonesia and is still active with the group. He also serves on many community non-profit boards and organizations, with a passion towards the arts and dragon boat racing.
